'Dancing With The Stars' Season 13 Lineup Revealed!
Kristin Cavallari, Rob Kardashian, David Arquette top the latest cast.By Kara Warner and Katie Byrne

Incredibly enough, the 13th season of everyone's favorite celebrity dance competition, "Dancing With the Stars," is just around the corner. The season premiere is a few weeks away, and the only thing more exciting than watching the new crop of celebs strut their stuff for the first time is finding out exactly what brave stars have been assembled to compete.
The wait is over as ABC announced their bright, shiny new cast Monday night (August 29) during "Bachelor Pad." Here's a look at the eclectic new contestants readying their dancing shoes for season 13 of "Dancing With the Stars":
Nancy Grace
The former prosecutor has made a name for herself as the host of her own talk show on HLN. Grace covers the world of current affairs, in a no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners approach that often draws criticism for her snap judgment and pointed opinions.
Ricki Lake
Longtime fans will always remember Lake from her big-screen debut as Tracy Turnblad in the 1988 movie "Hairspray." Later in life, Lake made a name for herself with her daytime talk show, which ended its 11-year run in 2004 but is reportedly returning to TV in fall 2012.
Chynna Phillips
Phillips has long been in the public eye and is perhaps best known as being part of popular '90s trio Wilson Phillips. The daughter of the Mamas & the Papas' bandmembers John and Michelle Phillips has dabbled in singing and acting over the years and has been married to Billy Baldwin (brother to Alec and Stephen) since 1995.
Hope Solo
Solo joins the ranks of many professional athletes-turned-dancers on "DWTS." The professional soccer star helped the U.S. Women's team bring home the gold medal at the '08 summer Olympics and is currently a goalkeeper for the MagicJack soccer club.
Kristin Cavallari
The MTV star stirred up trouble first on "Laguna Beach" and then took over for Lauren Conrad on the final season of "The Hills." The newly single Cavallari will surely take full advantage of the show's skimpy costumes and no doubt gain the attention of a new beau.
Elisabetta Canalis
Canalis is best known for her highly publicized two-year romance with one of America's favorite "Sexiest Men Alive," George Clooney. Since their split last summer, the Italian beauty has appeared in film and TV shows and hosted the Italian version of "Total Request Live," as well as the singing contest Sanremo Music Festival.
Rob Kardashian
"Keeping Up With the Kardashians" might shine the brightest spotlight on the Kardashian sisters, but little brother Rob is often there as the voice of reason amid the family drama. The reality star could have a leg up on the competition, getting tips from sister Kim, who competed on season seven, or maybe Sabrina Bryan, the Cheetah Girls bandmate of Rob's ex Adrienne Bailon, who competed on season five. Or maybe he should just keep it in the family.
Chaz Bono
Bono is the only child of superstars Cher and the late Sonny Bono. Despite living in the shadow of famous parents, Chaz, who was born Chastity, is a writer, actor and musician, and is well-known in the LGBT community for being a transgender advocate.
David Arquette
While Arquette is known for memorable roles in film and television, particularly as dopey policeman Dewey Cox in the "Scream" franchise, the actor/director/writer/occasional professional wrestler made headlines last year when he and Courteney Cox, his wife of nearly 11 years, announced their separation. Three months later, after giving Howard Stern a particularly revealing interview about the state of his marriage, Arquette checked himself into rehab for issues with alcohol. He is in recovery and has reportedly been sober since.
Ron Artest
Or should we say Metta World Peace? The outspoken Lakers player and rapper, who is currently trying to change his name to that Ochocinco-esque alias, made headlines years ago for an on-court brawl but is now known as a quirkily lovable personality. We'll see what antics he has up his sleeve on the dance floor.
J.R. Martinez
This surefire fan favorite is an actor, motivational speaker and retired soldier who suffered burns over 40 percent of his body when his Humvee hit a landmine in Iraq. Martinez turned the harrowing experience into an inspirational tale for other burn victims and now has a role on ABC's "All My Children."
Carson Kressley
This fashion guru got his celebrity start as one of the "Fab Five" on Bravo's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy." Kressley has an eye for how to make people look good and frequently appears on TV talk shows to offer his expert opinions on fashion. Kressley currently hosts his own show "Carson Nation" on Oprah Winfrey's OWN.
"Dancing With The Stars" premieres Monday, September 19, at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Katy Perry Stands By Her Man
I told you yesterday about Russell Brand being arrested after allegedly getting into an altercation with a paparazzo. Here are the pictures of Russell and Katy Perry arriving at the airport before the scuffle broke out.
And here's what Katy had to say on twitter about the incident:
If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fianc will do his job & protect me. #standbyyourman #don'tf**kwiththeBrands.
If it's true that the paparazzo was trying to get a picture under Katy's skirt, then the paparazzo is the one who should've been arrested! Talk about crossing the line. And I've heard of paparazzi trying to do that, so it doesn't sound so improbable to me.
Hopefully this will be resolved without too much fuss.

Beyonce To Hit The VMA Stage
Tune in for B's first VMA performance in two years, this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.By Aly Semigran
Beyoncé

Beyoncé, who instructed girls to run the world with her VMA-nominated smash song, will now run the stage at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.
The "Run the World (Girls)" singer, who has three nominations this year (including Best Female Video, Best Choreography and Best Cinematography) and is the previous recipient of nine Moonmen, including 2009's Video of the Year award for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," will join the lineup of 2011 VMA performers, which already includes Lady Gaga, Adele, Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Young the Giant, Pitbull and Ne-Yo. Jessie J will serve as a house artist for the ceremony.
"We are thrilled to have Beyoncé return to her rightful musical home at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards," said Amy Doyle, executive producer of the 2011 MTV VMAs and MTV's EVP of Music & Talent, in a statement. "Her performances at the VMAs are legendary — leaving everyone breathless and talking for days. We can't wait to see her set the stage on fire once again!"
While it's been two years since the pop diva extraordinaire last hit the stage as a VMA performer (when she, along with a bevy of backup dancers, brought down the house with a "Single Ladies" number), Beyoncé recently played a series of intimate shows at New York's Roseland Ballroom, performing songs off of her latest album, 4, as well as classic hits, including favorites from the Destiny's Child era, to sold-out crowds.
The VMAs will air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday at 9 p.m. (live ET/ tape-delayed PT). Presenters includes Selena Gomez (who will pull double duty as VMA pre-show host), Taylor Lautner, Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj, Zoe Saldana, Seth Rogen, Drake, Joe Jonas, Jared Leto, Jonah Hill, Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Victoria Justice, Rick Ross, Odd Future and JB Smoove.
Though voting is closed for Beyoncé's categories, fans can still vote for Best New Artist by visiting VMA.MTV.com online or m.mtv.com on their mobile phones. In addition, Best New Artist text voting is open to all wireless carrier subscribers by texting BNA to 66333. Voting continues all the way through the show, until the winner is announced live on Sunday.

Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Nude Statue Gets New Home
Rep for artist Daniel Edwards says life-size piece will be on display at Dallas-area porn shop.By Jocelyn Vena

Daniel Edwards' headline-making nude statue of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez has found a new home. The life-size statue of the two teen stars will make its way to a Dallas-area porn shop in the very near future, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The shop, New Fine Arts, confirmed to the site that the statue will be on display there. Cory Allen, a rep for Edwards, also told The Reporter that the artist is planning a companion piece inspired by a 1968 cast made of Jimi Hendrix's private parts. The second statue will display Bieber's in the same way, using what he described as a "Warner Bros. cartoon" vibe.
So, why has Edwards decided to focus his attention on the sexualization of Bieber, 17, and Gomez, 19? The artist explained why to MTV News this week.
"I tried to find my entry into making a comment on that very thing that happens time and again to teenage celebrities, where they're kind of exploited early, earlier than what is legal, and the media fuels that as best they can," he said. "I guess I'm making my commentary about that particular thing that happens."
The statue also comments on the "double standard" for males and females in the industry. "It only seems to hit the young ladies a lot worse than the men. It's still there. You see all those beach photos of the two of them. My children are young, but I think I would be freaked out if I saw images of them like that on the Internet."
What do you think of the artist's statue? Let us know in the comments below.

Taylor Lautner Chooses Bruno Mars, And More Celeb VMA Picks
Kim Kardashian predicts Katy Perry will win Video of the Year at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, airing Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.By Kara Warner

All of the categories for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards are competitive, but none more so than the eclectic group vying for Sunday night's biggest prize: Video of the Year.
The 2011 nominees for Video of the Year are: Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," Beastie Boys' "Make Some Noise," Bruno Mars' "Grenade," Katy Perry's "Firework" and Tyler the Creator's "Yonkers." MTV News recently asked some celebrities for their predictions on who will take home the night's most-important Moonman.
"I'm a huge Bruno Mars fan, so maybe I'd give the slight edge there," "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner said diplomatically.
"I'm going to go with Bruno Mars," said Christopher Mintz-Plasse. "That song is really insanely catchy."
And "Harry Potter" star Tom Felton also revealed, "I'm a bit of a Bruno fan."
"I like Katy Perry," Kim Kardashian told us, as her sister Kourtney nodded in agreement.
"Switched at Birth" star Sean Berdy cast his vote via sign language and the help of a translator: "It goes to Katy Perry for 'Firework.' I love her music."
Admitted longtime fan Affion Crockett said, "I gotta be loyal: I'm going to stick with the Beastie Boys." And OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder told us, "I would vote for Beastie Boys."
Allstar Weekend put their vote in for Tyler the Creator's trippy "Yonkers" clip, as did another all-boy band, Honor Society. "We're going for Tyler," Society frontman Michael Bruno revealed.
"Cockroaches, vomiting, the whole thing, it's all there."
"I gotta go with Adele," said "Voice" winner Javier Colon, and "Teen Wolf" star Crystal Reed gushed, "I love Adele. I secretly wish I was her."
So, based on our informal celeb poll (we counted band members as one), Bruno Mars would take home the Video of the Year trophy, having earned three votes. All the other nominees received two.

Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him
'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.By Chris Harris
Chris Cornell

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has spoken out for the first time about rumors that he's been asked to fill in for Robert Plant on a proposed Led Zeppelin reunion tour. The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham.
Cornell has been mentioned — along with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, White Stripes mastermind Jack White and Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy — as a potential Plant fill-in. Plant has already said that he wouldn't take part in the tour.
"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour."
Cornell's denial comes just a day after Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford confirmed reports that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert."
Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant.
According to Snider, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "
"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."
In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."
But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."
Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming Timbaland-produced solo LP, Scream, will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider Scream something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.
"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] Euphoria Morning, my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.
"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."

Usher To Donate Gadhafi Money To Charity
'I will be donating all of my personal proceeds...to various human rights organizations,' singer says of concert linked to Libyan dictator.By Shawn Adler

R&B superstar Usher announced Friday (March 4) that he was donating to various charities proceeds from appearing at a private event at St. Barts linked to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, according to a statement made to the Associated Press.
The Grammy award winner's renouncement comes after similar announcements from singers Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, and Beyoncé, all of whom were revealed to have performed at private concerts linked to the Middle Eastern leader, who has faced open revolt and major political uprisings since February.
"I am sincerely troubled to learn about the circumstances surrounding the Nikki Beach St. Bart's event that took place on New Year's Eve 2009," Usher said of the concert, at which he appeared alongside Beyoncé but did not perform. "I will be donating all of my personal proceeds from that event to various human rights organizations."
Usher has already begun the process, having made a donation to Amnesty International, the AP reports. The exact size of the donation is not known.
The New Year's Eve gig was reportedly for Moammar's fourth son Muastassim, who an unnamed music industry source told MTV News has a history of throwing lavish parties "jammed" with supermodels.
Beyoncé, who sang at the event, donated all proceeds from her performance to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, established in the wake of the Haitian earthquake.
"All monies paid to Beyoncé for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year's Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago," the "Halo" singer's publicist said in a statement to The Huffington Post. "Once it became known that the third-party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause."
Singer Nelly Furtado tweeted February 28 that she plans to make similar amends.
"In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Gadhafi clan to perform a 45 min. show for guests at a hotel in Italy," she tweeted. "I am going to donate the $."
The leader of Libya since a successful military coup in 1969, Gadhafi has reportedly lost control of much of his country as a result of widespread uprisings. The United Nations voted unanimously to refer the dictator to the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.

Lil Wayne Drops Deep Messages In 'How To Love' Video
Tragic clip tugs at heartstrings with depictions of abuse, molestation and prostitution.By Rob Markman
Lil Wayne
Photo: Getty Images
If fans already thought that Lil Wayne put his emotions on display on "How to Love," off Tha Carter IV, wait until they get a load of the video, which premieres online on Wednesday (August 24). The Chris Robinson-directed clip is filled with drama and social commentary, telling the story of a beautiful young woman who stumbles into every imaginable pitfall.
The video opens in an abortion clinic, where a woman lies in a gown on the operating table. Suddenly she changes her mind and flies off the table and through the clinic's hall, choosing to keep her child. Shortly after that, the song's acoustic guitar licks drop in and we see a shirtless Wayne alone in a dimly lit hallway, singing, "You had a lot of crooks try to steal your heart, never really had luck, could never figure out how to love."
It is then that the distressed woman's story begins to unspool. We first see her being abused by her boyfriend, thrown to the ground in her bedroom while her infant, sitting in a car seat nearby, cries.
Fast-forward a few years later, and the mother is in a prison visiting room, talking to her incarcerated boyfriend through a glass panel while her daughter, now a toddler, sits in her lap.
"How to Love" producer Detail warned that the single's video would "shock" us.
A boyfriend in prison is just the tip of the iceberg. Things get disturbing as her daughter, who now appears to be a preteen, becomes a victim of child molestation. The scene starts just as Tunechi belts out, "When you were just a young'un, your looks were so precious." Cash Money and company clearly pulled no punches. We see the young girl sitting in pigtails as her mother's boyfriend approaches her while unfastening his belt and putting his fingers to his lips, an indication that she should keep quiet as she tries to fight him off. In the following sequences, the young girl, now all grown up (and played by video actress Chanta Patton), has become overly promiscuous.
The message is deep, and in the video Wayne plays second fiddle, not letting his performance shots get in the way of Robinson's story-telling. Together they illustrate a domino effect. Forget going from bad to worse: During the course of the five-minute clip things go from tragic to abysmal. The young woman's eventual career as a stripper begets prostitution, and it is her life as a prostitute that ultimately leads to devastating consequences. At approximately the three-minute mark the music cuts out and we see the principal character in a doctor's office similar to the one shown in the first scene, only this time she isn't able to run from the results. "Your blood results came back positive," the doctor tells her. When she asks, "Positive for what?," he replies, "HIV."
Maybe the message is dramatically overdone, but with the clip Wayne — who will be performing at the Video Music Awards and dropping his album at midnight afterwards — sparks discussion much like TLC did with their cautionary 1995 video for "Waterfalls."
There is hope, however; in a rewind sequence the victim's life is redone. In an alternate reality, the domestic violence her mother originally faced is erased. Instead, she marries in a church ceremony, and with no abuse or prison visits to speak of, her daughter's life is now set right. Consequently, Patton's character endures no molestation, nor does she resort to stripping or prostitution. Instead she graduates from high school and enrolls in beauty school. Eventually, she winds up in the same doctor's office seen earlier in the clip — only this time the news is good: The beauty school grad finds out she's pregnant and reacts with a joyous sigh, before turning to her mother to say, "Thank you, just thank you for being there for me and teaching me how to love."
It wasn't just the guitar strings that Weezy plucked at with this single; he was clearly tugging at the heartstrings as well.
The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. See the list of nominees, revisit last year's highlights and vote for Best New Artist by visiting VMA.MTV.com.

Blake Shelton, Incubus Take Over Billboard Chart
Beyonce's 4 knocked down to #5 in third week out.By Gil Kaufman

Blake Shelton was already a beloved country star before he became a reality-TV double-threat. But thanks in part to his breakout role on "The Voice," Miranda Lambert's better half is reaping plenty of benefits, including a #1 debut on the Billboard 200 charts next week for his new album, Red River Blue.
According to figures provided by SoundScan, Shelton's sixth studio album, his first #1 debut ever and highest-charting album to date, sold 116,000 copies last week. Just behind was the first album in five years from floaty rockers Incubus with If Not Now, When, which debuts at #2 on sales of 80,000. They lead a parade of new faces in the top 10 that also includes country singer Chris Young, whose Neon hit #4 in its first week (73,000), pop smoothie Colbie Caillat's All of You (#6, 66,000), head-bangers Theory of a Deadman's Truth Is (#8, 38,000) and the debut from the rebooted Sublime with new singer Rome, Yours Truly (#9, 35,000).
The rest of the top 10: Adele's 21 (#3, 77,000), Beyoncé's 4 (#5, 72,000), Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party (#7, 42,000) and Selena Gomez and the Scene's When the Sun Goes Down (#10, 33,000).
A couple of former top 10 dwellers fall to the second rung, including Eminem's Hell: The Sequel project under the Bad Meets Evil banner (#11, 30,000), Lady Gaga's Born This Way (down five to #13, 25,000) and Jill Scott's Light of the Sun (#14, 21,000).
The soundtrack to "Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows, Part 2" comes in at #25, while indie darlings Washed Out crash in at #26 with the excellent Within & Without (#26, 15,000). And it was a short trip to the top 10 for R&B crooner Lloyd, who plummets 39 spots to #49 in the second week for King of Hearts (9,000).
Over on the iTunes chart Caillat sits atop the album tally, followed by Shelton, Incubus, Adele, Sublime, Chris Young, Theory of a Deadman, Beyoncé, Bad Meets Evil and the unstoppable Mumford & Sons' Sigh No More.
LMFAO continue to rule the iTunes singles chart with their summer hit "Party Rock Anthem," which beats out Demi Lovato's "Skyscraper," Katy Perry's "Last Friday (T.G.I.F.)," Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" and Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight." Rounding out the top 10 at #6 are Lil Wayne's "How to Love," Pitbull's "Give Me Everything," Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," OneRepublic's "Good Life" and Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem."
Things should be fairly static next week, with the only new titles including a new Kidz Bop Kids title and albums from 311, 3 Doors Down and DJ Khaled.

Audrina Patridge, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert Share Prom Memories
'Me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m.,' Ke$ha tells MTV News.By Jocelyn Vena

It's prom season, and that means high schoolers across this great land will be renting tuxes, buying fancy dresses and negotiating the details of their curfews with parents. So, before you take your pictures and get in your limos, we asked some Hollywood A-listers to recall their fondest prom memories.
"I had a great prom," Ne-Yo told MTV News. "I didn't get to go with who I wanted to go with. I got my second choice, but my second choice turned out to be the one I was supposed to be there with, so it turned out good."
Ke$ha, never one to say no to a party, had the best night of all her friends. "I went to prom with my gay best friend, and let me tell you, I had way more fun than anybody else at a prom with their boyfriends," she recalled. "Everybody else was, like, crying and drama and breaking up, and me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m."
"Hellcats" star Aly Michalka doesn't have a favorite prom memory — because she never went to prom. "I was homeschooled, so I don't even think we had a fake prom," she lamented. "Like, maybe we had a home-school prom and I wasn't invited?"
While everything always seems to be in peril on "The Vampire Diaries," star Nina Dobrev had a less tumultuous night: "Having everyone get together and such a final celebration [is what I remember]."
Romeo went big for his prom. "My senior prom, I remember I pulled up in my red Ferrari. I was feeling like James Bond," he said. "And it was one of the best nights of my life."
"My favorite prom memory was probably going shopping for a dress, and our boyfriends at the time dressed up as 'Dumb & Dumber,' " Audrina Patridge laughed. "And so we were like, 'We can't dress up dorky ... we have to look good.' "
Roots drummer ?uestlove made a big decision on the night of his prom: "June 2, 1989, was my very last haircut; prom haircut, totally butchered my hair. He butchered my hair, and I vowed never again to ever get in a barber chair, so I grew that Afro on my prom night."
Adam Lambert said his prom date was a 10, so he definitely had a fun night. "I had a great prom. I had an awesome time," he said. "I went with one of my best friends in high school. Her name was Lauren, and she was really hot. She wore a really hot red dress, so I felt like I had arm candy."

Janet Jackson Thrills Fans With Greatest Hits, Michael Tribute At Radio City
Singer covered songs ranging from classic 'Pleasure Principle' to 2008's 'Feedback' at New York show.By Vaughn Schoonmaker

NEW YORK — Often imitated, never duplicated, Janet Jackson's outbursts of meticulous choreography, sassy exclamations and smoldering gazes into the audience kept them on their feet for the entire two-hour set of her greatest hits at Radio City Music Hall. Monday night marked the last of three sold-out shows at the historic venue on her monumental Number Ones: Up Close and Personal Tour.
Up-and-coming boy band Mindless Behavior opened the show with songs including "#1 Girl," "Future" and their debut single, "My Girl." With their Usher-esque dance moves and shouts like "Where the ladies at?" the boys brought the tween girls out of hiding, judging by the shrill screams escaping various corner of the music hall.
At 9:00 sharp, the lights went down and Janet's fans were on the edge of their seats, watching music videos for "The Best Things in Life Are Free" and "Rhythm Nation" projected on big screens across the venue. A small shadow drifted toward center stage, and when the colorful lights came up, Jackson, wrapped in a shoulder-padded catsuit, complete with slick short hair, blasted into "The Pleasure Principle," dancing as hard and intensely choreographed as she did when the song first came out in the 1980s.
With barely a spare second between songs, Janet dazzled her way through her biggest hits, including "Miss You Much," "All for You" and "Nasty," and more recent hits like 2008's "Feedback."
Videos displayed during Jackson's costume changes included vintage clips from "Diff'rent Strokes," a funny scene from "Poetic Justice" where Jackson slyly rejects the advances of Tupac Shakur's character, and a rather heavy scene, as Jackson's character in "Why Did I Get Married" destroys her husband's house with a golf club, screaming hysterically.
Considering the tough couple of years the Jackson family has faced, the dark moments in the video seemed fitting, and everyone was beside themselves with bittersweet joy when Michael Jackson's face popped up on the big screen and she performed their hit single "Scream."
Janet emerged for her encore in a tight white one-piece disco suit, and performed "Diamonds," "Make Me" and "Together Again," which appeared to be the biggest hit of the evening. As Jackson graciously bowed out, her straight face transitioned into a smirk, suggesting that despite the hard times she has experienced recently, we can expect to see this singing and dancing pop legend shine far into the future.
"Its amazing!" Janet fan Elena Mercantini gleamed afterward. "It's like she's still 20 years old!"
"She's hot, she's amazing and she's still got it after all these years" added Alison Klinger of Long Island. "Best concert I've ever been to!"

With a Little Luck: A Novel
My good friend Caprice Crane's new book, With a Little Luck, is out today. Yay, Caprice!
It's gotten great reviews:
"Crane is one of the funniest writers of popular fiction around. The dialog (inner and outer) is laugh-out-loud, snort-inducing hilarious . . . Readers will want to cross their fingers and spit while throwing salt over their shoulders if it helps Berry reach her dreams. Highly recommended."
—Library Journal
"Fans of Stacy Ballis and Cara Lockwood will appreciate Crane's effortlessly funny style, which is often attempted in popular fiction but is rarely this well executed...Lighthearted and charmingly honest."
—Booklist
"[A] satisfying romantic comedy...[with] real character growth."
—Kirkus Reviews
And even better blurbs:
"Romantic, poignant and funny—this book is a lucky find for lit fans. Caprice Crane is a nimble and gifted storyteller."
—Diablo Cody, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Juno
"A hilarious romp that oozes charm and giddy fun. Caprice Crane is a true talent."
—Molly Jong-Fast, author of The Social Climber's Handbook
"Witty, fast-paced, and sheer fun. Caprice Crane is a master of dialogue. Half the time I was reading this book I was smiling, which made me look like a crazy person on the subway."
—Jancee Dunn, author of Don’t You Forget About Me and Why Is My Mother Getting a Tattoo?
"Absolutely charming and hilarious."
—Missy Peregrym, star of the movie Stick It and ABC's Rookie Blue
"With a Little Luck scores in humor, head, and heart. In other words, it’s a perfect trifecta."
—Karyn Bosnak, author of 20 Times a Lady (soon to be the major motion picture What's Your Number?)
(Omg, who is that last fantastic blurber?) (I meant every word of it.)
And most importantly, she has the cutest dog ever (who likes to video chat with Bev):
Anyway, check it out, buy it—it's fantastic!

Anne Hathaway's 'Dark Knight Rises' Prep: YouTube Cat Videos?
'I actually had this moment when I convinced one of the assistant directors on the London portion of the film to get a cat with me,' actress tells MTV News.By Eric Ditzian

If you're not happy with that early peek at Anne Hathaway's Catwoman, perhaps you should blame Keyboard Cat.
Because as the "Dark Knight Rises" actress revealed in Interview magazine, she prepped for the role by turning to feline-focused web videos, after her initial plan to adopt one of the furry creatures fell through.
"I actually had this moment when I convinced one of the assistant directors on the London portion of the film to get a cat with me, the idea being that we were going to get a kitten from a rescue shelter, and he was going to live with me, and I was going to observe it, and when I left London, I was going to give it to her," Hathaway explained. "Then, thankfully, her husband pointed out that that was a terrible idea on so many levels, not least of which being that it would probably be really confusing to the cat."
She added, "So I turned to YouTube instead and got a National Geographic video on cats."
OK, so while the influence of OMG cats and talking cats and cats that wrestle watermelons may not be discernable in the first look at Hathaway's Catwoman, there's no denying the reaction to her "Dark Knight" debut was mixed. But when the 28-year-old actress revealed what it takes to fit into that suit, you had to give her a round of applause.
"I'm a vegetarian, and right now I'm living on kale and dust," she said on "Chelsea Lately" on Wednesday, adding that it takes three people to squeeze her into the costume. "Catsuit's unforgiving."
And since the production lasts for months and months, she's had to maintain that strict diet and those intense workouts, lest her Catwoman come in for even more unwanted attention. The key to making it all happen is that, after initially hating hitting the gym, she finally enjoys getting in her workouts.
"I think I'd never really gotten over the hump," she said. "There's a workout hump where you're so weak that you hate everything. Everything's painful and you look like an idiot. The gym that I work out at, I was literally working out next to a pregnant Jessica Alba and she could do more pushups than I could."
Check out everything we've got on "The Dark Knight Rises."

Lady Gaga's 'Yoü And I' Personas: Who Are Yuyi And Jo Calderone?
Gaga video makes its TV debut tonight at 7:49 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and Logo.By Jocelyn Vena

Lady Gaga's "Yoü and I" video is eye candy — if your type of eye candy involves freaky sci-fi love stories, that is. The Laurieann Gibson-directed video, which makes its television debut tonight at 7:49 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and Logo during "MTV First: Lady Gaga," certainly recalls many of the personas in Gaga's world.
Lady Gaga's musical director recalls how "Yoü and I" came to be.
There are nods to many of Gaga's past incarnations. When she stands at a crossroads in a big hat, the image is reminiscent of "Telephone" Gaga. When she sits nearly makeup-free at her piano in the cornfields, there are touches of the teary-eyed makeup-less Gaga from the "Bad Romance" video. Flashes of her wedding may remind fans of the wedding dress she wore in the "Judas" clip. Robot Gaga's facial structures recall some of the steampunk looks of her "Alejandro" video. Those are only a few of the nods to past personas from her own videography.
Go behind the scenes of a top-secret Lady Gaga shoot.
But there are two other significant personas that fans of the singer will recognize from the Gaga-verse, her male alter ego, Jo Calderone, and her mermaid alter ego, Yuyi. But those not as familiar with all things Gaga might be wondering just who these two are.
Jo Calderone first appeared in Vogue Hommes Japan last September. In the issue, Jo revealed how he knows the superstar and fans were teased as to the nature of their relationship. "[My occupation is] mechanic for my dad's business. This is the first time I've had my picture taken. Well, I always helped my dad at work, since I was a kid. I thought it would be fun to have my picture taken," he said in the issue.
As for how he feels about Gaga, he shared, "She's f---in' beautiful, and funny, and interesting. I was a little nervous for Nick to start shooting. She said, 'Don't be baby, you were born this way.' I took her out after. The rest is private." He later reemerged on the single art for the song "You And I."
Fans first learned of Yuyi back in June, when Gaga teased that at some point she'd be the "reincarnation" of Gaga's "birth+artistic spirit." She appeared as a version of that mermaid figure during her performance on France's "Le Grand Journal" in June. Last month, on her official Tumblr, she posted a photo of herself as a mermaid figure, this time in a wheelchair, when she performed in Sydney.
Don't miss the television premiere of the "Yoü and I" video during "MTV First: Lady Gaga," Thursday night at 7:49 p.m. ET on MTV and Logo, followed by a live Q&A with Gaga and her fans on MTV.com.

HGTV, LA and Dining Room Tables
I've been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry.
When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, "There's no place for a dining room table..."
B*TCH, YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK.
I hated her.
Now there's some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn't want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor.
WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?
Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn't save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, "Ah, f*ck it," and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she's an idiot. But there's nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady?
Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.
I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.

When presented the excellent opportunity to interact with a cast of characters as fun and free-spirited as the cast of "Glee" and, more specifically, "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie," it is not to be wasted by asking generic interview questions like "Why do you love this role?" or "Why should people see this movie?"
Instead, MTV News first had the "Glee" cast give us a musical preview of the film's story line. Following those melodic results, we put together a list of rapid-fire superlative-style questions, which required stars Lea Michele, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz, Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera, Mark Salling, Ashley Fink, Darren Criss, Heather Morris, Kevin McHale and Harry Shum Jr. to decide which of their castmates deserved a series of "Most Likely to ..." titles. If you've ever wondered which actor is most likely to mess up choreography or date a fan, we've got your answers!
Read on (and click the embedded video) for the cast's candid responses, as well as adorable moments featuring the cast cracking one another up with lightning-quick answers.
Most Likely To Screw Up Choreography
Honorable mentions: Mark Salling (1 vote), Cory Monteith (4)
Winner: Chord Overstreet takes this category with seven Most Likely to Slip Up nods from his fellow castmembers.
Most Likely to Date a Fan
Winner: Mark Salling, who all but swept this one, save for the one vote Fink cast for herself in the category. Salling's reaction upon learning he was the clear choice?
"Me? Oh, hell no."
Mostly Likely to Join "Jersey Shore" Cast
Honorable mentions: Salling and Riley each received one vote.
Runner-up: Lea Michele
Winner: Naya Rivera
"Naya," Michele said. "But she's not Italian, and I'm Italian," she added with a smile and hint of the familiar accent.
"She'd bring some serious 'tude [to the show]," Criss said.
Biggest Flirt
Honorable mention: "Matthew Morrison," Fink said.
"Yeah," Criss agreed, "He flirts with me all the time."
"Matt is the flirtiest human I've ever met," Fink assured us.
Winner: Cory Monteith
"Yay!" Monteith said when he heard he was the front-runner in the category. "I guess? Hey, how you doing?" he said with a naughty smile.
Best Game
Honorable mentions: Monteith and Kevin McHale
Winner: "Darren Criss," Michele said with authority. "Darren Criss. Let me tell you something, he'll be like, 'See that girl over there?' And he will go over, and then a couple minutes later, you'll see her from afar and she'll be like, [demonstrates a shy smile that grows into a wide, enamored grin]."
"Me?" Criss said, appearing shocked, when he heard he'd been praised for his lady-killing skills. "I don't know about that," he said. "[But] I'll take it."

'Glee: The 3D Concert Movie': The Reviews Are In!
Is it as good as the show? Completely gratuitous? Worth the 3-D effects? Read what the critics have to say.By Kara Warner

For the "Glee"-obsessed out there counting down the days until the start of the hit TV show's third season, your wait has been temporarily abated with the arrival of "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie."
Here at MTV News, we've been celebrating the arrival of the 88-minute music-filled extravaganza with several fun moments with castmembers, including a "Glee"-style musical recap of the film and a hilarious list of superlatives. But now, with the movie finally out, it's time to analyze the nuts and bolts of the film by way of critical mass — it's currently posting a 61 percent "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Read on for the "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie" reviews, pro/con style.
The Setup
"A blend of concert footage, interstitial fan segments and faux behind-the-scenes snippets (the actors remain in character), pic avoids going the 'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never' route of documenting the cast members' rise to stardom. Nor does it offer much in the way of surprises. Instead, the goal is largely to provide the 'Glee' Live! concert event for those who missed the recent tour, an immersive experience enhanced by fan testimonials about the series' positive impact on their lives. As tempting as it is to label this approach over-calculated and self-congratulatory, it's virtually impossible not to be swept up in the surge of ebullience and affection. As one fan attests, ' "Glee" is like medicine.' Adds another, 'It's like the playlist of my life.' — Lael Loewenstein, Variety
"Even Gleeks who love to watch seasoned showbiz belters pretend to be high school kids on the hit TV series 'Glee' may wince at the cheesy marketing angle of 'Glee the 3D Concert Movie.' And I report this as a former geeky high school alto who is, if not a Gleek, at least 'Glee' friendly. ... The positive power of a TV show to encourage tolerance and compassion among its viewers is a wonderful thing. But these 'success stories' tilt uncomfortably toward self-congratulation on the part of the producers; certainly they register as overkill for the intended audience, who presumably already know how awesome it is." — Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly
The Performances
"The concert stuff is a slightly knottier matter. The actors from the series perform in character, enacting the roles they play on the show onstage as they sing; Lea Michele's goofily diva-esque Rachel belts out Streisand's big 'Funny Girl' number 'Don't Rain on My Parade' as if Babs herself were out in the audience checking it out. ... A Kurt/Rachel duet of 'Get Happy' and 'Happy Days Are Here Again' is an apt nod to Judy Garland and the originalist strain of glee-club singing and is kind of nifty. On the other hand, Finn's ballad rendition of 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' is an equally apt reminder of the fact that just because something can be done doesn't mean that it should, and the version of Queen's cheekily crass 'Fat Bottomed Girls' by Mark Salling's studly Puck is both entirely beside the point and from hunger, as it were. — Glen Kinney, MSN Movies
"Another of the movie's strengths is the showcasing of cast members with dance training, like McHale, Heather Morris and Harry Shum Jr. The gifted Shum gets favored by the camera frequently during choreographer Zach Woodlee's dance routines, while Morris — whose deadpan timing as ditzy cheerleader Brittany is a show standout — shines in her pumped-up version of Britney Spears' 'I'm a Slave 4 U.' " — Robert Abele, The Los Angeles Times
The Final Word
"For a film that was put together so rapidly, it doesn't look at all shoddy (except for a couple of frames near the end shot from the giant screen instead of the stage). The 3D effect, however, is largely superfluous until the final credits, when the show's trademark blue slushie heads straight for the viewer. On that note, you might leave 'Glee 3D' feeling a little gooey all over, but that slushie does taste kind of sweet." — Loewenstein, Variety
"The movie is entertaining and, admittedly, completely unnecessary. Yes, it works well enough in theaters. But it also would have worked just as well as a heavily promoted special television event broadcast over Thanksgiving weekend. ... In the end, 'Glee: The 3D Concert Movie' is actually a perfect representation of 'Glee' the TV show: At its best, it's joyful, uplifting and even, occasionally, moving. And at its worst, it's a propaganda piece designed to win our undying loyalty to a TV show/cash cow that advocates for the little guy even though it's clearly turned into a diva." — Jen Chaney, The Washington Post

Beyonce's 4 Holds On To Billboard #1
Adele's 21 is right behind at #2.By Gil Kaufman

Make it a double for Beyoncé. After debuting with the lowest first-week totals of her solo career last week with 4, the "Best Thing I Never Had" singer will make it two in a row at the top next week when her latest holds on to the #1 slot thanks to sales of 115,000.
Though Bey's sales were down a bracing 63 percent (with a two-week total just shy of 426,000), that is more than enough to hold off this year's chart queen, Adele, whose five-month-old smash, 21, holds steady at #2 thanks to another 79,000 units moved.
That pushes her total to date to nearly 2.6 million, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.
The ladies rule a female-heavy top 10 that features just one new entry, R&B singer Lloyd's King of Hearts, which sneaks in at #10 on sales of 26,000.
The rest of the top 10: Selena Gomez & the Scene, When the Sun Goes Down (#3, 44,000), Jason Aldean, My Kinda Party (#4, 42,000), Bad Meets Evil, Hell: The Sequel (#5, 35,000), Jackie Evancho, Dream With Me (#6, 34,000), Jill Scott, Light of the Sun (#7, 32,000), Lady Gaga, Born This Way (#8, 30,000) and Big Sean, Finally Famous (#9, 27,000).
It was an otherwise quiet week for new releases, with most of the top 40 suffering double-digit drops in sales. Among those losing some significant business: Bon Iver, whose Bon Iver is down 39 percent to 24,000, "American Idol" winner Scott McCreery, whose digital EP slips nine spots in its second week as sales tanked by 65 percent, fellow "Idol" champ David Cook, whose second album, This Loud Morning, drops 19 slots to #26 in its second go-round as business fell by 74 percent, and this year's "Idol" runner-up, Lauren Alaina, whose EP shed 47 percent of last week's figures to land at #35.
It seems that few of Limp Bizkit's fans have hung around for their long-promised comeback album, Gold Cobra, as sales took a nosedive in week two. The LP falls 40 slots to #56 as sales tailed off by 72 percent (8,000).
Beyoncé has to settle for second-best on the iTunes albums chart, as Adele triumphs, pushing Bey to #2, followed by Bad Meets Evil, Mumford & Sons' Sigh No More, Bon Iver, Big Sean, We the Kings' Sunshine State of Mind, Gomez, Aldean and Gaga.
You can tell it's summer on the iTunes singles chart, as party starters LMFAO take the pole position with "Party Rock Anthem," which pushes Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" to #2, followed by Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass," Pitbull's "Give Me Everything," OneRepublic's "Good Life" and Adele's monster single, "Rolling in the Deep." At #7 is Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight," and then Lil Wayne's "How to Love," Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem" and Gaga's "The Edge of Glory."
Beyoncé's chart reign is likely to end next week as a raft of new titles hits shelves. They include the hyped latest from "The Voice"
breakout hosting star Blake Shelton, as well as new albums from Incubus, Colbie Caillat, Chris Young and Ashton Shepherd.

Do Foo Fighters Know Robert Pattinson From Robert Plant?
During band's rehearsal break for Sunday's Movie Awards, we put Foos to the test.By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Jim Cantiello

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Hard rock, heavy metal, hardcore and punk have long gone hand-in-hand with evil wizards, magic, vampires and werewolves. And with a collective sub-cultural pedigree that includes stints in the Germs, No Use for a Name, Sunny Day Real Estate, Scream and some band called Nirvana, you'd think the Foo Fighters — set to perform at Sunday's Movie Awards — would know their "Potter" from their Zeppelin. Certainly they can recognize a "wand" reference and pinpoint its origin?
Right? Before we put MTV News' magically crafted trivia to the band, it seemed safe to assume the Foos would accurately distinguish between the words of Harry Potter, a "Twilight" character and Led Zeppelin. But was their underground nerd cred blown to shreds? Read on — and click the vi...

"I will be donating ...

Nicki Minaj Dishes On 'Ice Age: Continental Drift' Role
'I went in and I had a blast. I did it as two different voices,' Minaj says of her role in the fourth 'Ice Age' movie.By Jocelyn Vena

Nicki Minaj is ready to get even more animated than she does in her videos and her colorful stage show. The singer confirmed that she's ready for her cartoon close-up in the latest "Ice Age" flick, "Ice Age: Continental Drift," in which she's set to play one of the many kooky characters alongside folks like Wanda Sykes, Jeremy Renner, Aziz Ansari, Heather Morris and even her pal and fellow MC Drake.
When MTV News caught up with Minaj backstage at the Femme Fatale Tour stop in New Jersey, she opened up about how she ended up in the A-list flick, the fourth in the hit franchise.
"I don't know how much I can talk about that, but I came about that when my agency sent me out on an audition for some people who wanted to hear me," she recalled. "They knew I liked animation, they knew I liked to do voices, and so they said they were doing that so I thought, 'This is amazing.' "
However, getting a part in the film wasn't all that easy for the superstar. "The original role that I was up for I didn't get," she explained. "So I said, 'Oh, OK, whatever.' I was really mad, and the next thing you know, they called me and they said, 'We wrote in a part just for you 'cause we really want you to be a part of this movie.' "
Although she wouldn't divulge which role she plays in the film, Minaj did say that she really put a lot of work into the part, leaving the final voice selection up to the film's producers. "And I just was screaming and so excited, and I went in and I had a blast. I did it as two different voices," she said. "We'll see what happens."
Check out everything we've got on "Ice Age: Continental Drift."

'Hunger Games' Sequel Set For November 2013
'Catching Fire' is only movie scheduled for 2013 Thanksgiving weekend so far.By Terri Schwartz

Get your fire extinguishers ready, because the world is going to be "Catching Fire" on November 22, 2013.
Lionsgate announced the release date for the second installment in the "Hunger Games" film series Monday (August 8), following two new stills from the first flick hitting the Web. "The Hunger Games" is still in production and is slated for a March 23, 2012, release. "Catching Fire" is the only movie slotted for the prime 2013 Thanksgiving weekend spot.
No word yet on whether "Catching Fire" will maintain Gary Ross as director or whether it will follow "The Twilight Saga" and "Harry Potter" trend of getting new directors for its four installments. But, considering "The Hunger Games" is close to wrapping, the timing of the announcement leads us to assume that Lionsgate is attempting to maintain some continuity from the first movie to the second.
The new photos from "The Hunger Games" show that the cast is well into filming. The first still shows off Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in the middle of the titular Hunger Games. It is a familiar image from the previously released photos, but the "X-Men: First Class" star looks ready for battle with her quiver full of arrows. If you look close enough, you can even see her mockingjay pin peeking out on her jacket.
Photo number two features Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, one of the two leading men in the movie. He looks a bit worse for wear and a lot less concerned than Katniss about the fight to the death he's embroiled in. It appears that this photo takes place about halfway through the movie, after Peeta suffers a serious injury.
According to Elizabeth Banks' interview with ComingSoon.net, there's only about a month of filming left on "The Hunger Games." Banks, who plays Effie Trinket in the series, had nothing but wonderful things to say about the project. "We're really making a provocative movie that's also highly entertaining. It's gonna be fun," Banks said. "It's really great to make something that you know people are excited about and also that you know is gonna deliver. I really think the fans are gonna love it."
