It broke world records during test runs -- hitting 486.1 kilometers per hour -- and now the long-awaited Shanghai-Beijing high-speed train is back on schedule and due to carry its first passengers by the end of June.Beijing Railway Administration will also launch its new telephone booking and Internet booking services at the same time, reported State media.
The train will run through Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Anhui and Jiangsu between the capital and Shanghai, passing through seven provinces and municipalities along China's east coast, where a quarter of the country's population lives, generating 40 percent of the country's GDP.read more
